Mushroom deposition is actually mushroom mycelium grown on various substances. The mycelium are fungal spores that have sprouted. Mushroom spawn is used in place of mushroom spores to grow mushrooms because spores are not always reliable, but sprouted spores have a limited shelf life. When buying mushroom spawns, you should plan to use it all. However, if you have something left, you can keep it to prolong its life a little.

Write the date on your lot of mushroom spawns. Commercially produced mushroom deposition must be dated when the mycelium has been mixed with the substrate. Since the deposition of fungi is alive, it is also subject to bacteria, mold and debris produced by the mycelium.
Try to use most or all of your generation of mushrooms after receiving it. The sooner you use it, the more mushrooms you will collect. The longer you hold it, the more it degrades.
Store the unused mushroom in its original packaging. Do not move the seed to another container. The original bag in which it was produced was made specifically for the purpose of containing the deposition of mushrooms.
Store unused mushroom deposition in a refrigerator set between 32 and 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Your spawning should last 2 months stored this way. Because it is alive, it will not last forever.
Use all of your mushroom eggs as soon as possible before the eggs go completely extinct.
