How to Choose the Right Bar Stools
The bar stools are the main selection of the kitchen and are perfect for islands and bars. So you will find the best option for your room, from the height on the number of chairs to the style of sitting.
The right height
Bar stools come in four standard heights, named after the seat they pair with. To determine what you need, simply measure the height of your tabletop. Adjustable bar stools, equipped with hydraulic pumps that allow you to move the seat up or down, are a flexible alternative that can be used in spaces and uses.
The best number
The number of chairs you can fit into your seat depends on how much space you should leave between the chairs for easy maneuvering. Here are the rules:
- Leave 6 inches between seats when the bar stool is 16-18 inches wide
- Allow 8-10 inches between seats, if the bar stool is wider than 18 inches, has arms or turns
The seat type
Bar stools are available in three standard versions based on the back height:
- Backless: Just slide under the counter, but less comfortable the longer you sit
- Low Back: Short or medium height lip for a little support and tend to lean modern
- Full Back: Similar to Dining Chairs (Also Known for Daily Meals)
Armchairs with armrests are available with a low or full backrest and often rejuvenate, allowing the chairs to slide in. Swivel bar stools allow for easy entry and exit and are available in all back options. by wayfair
